Miss Jessie Lee Esterbrook died at 6 o’clock Wednesday evening at Livingston Manor, following an illness of several years, She was 98. Miss Esterbrook was born in Attica, Ind., June 8, 1878, daughter of John George Esterbrook and Mary Abigail Foster Esterbrook. She attended the Vail school in Attica and the Greer College in Hoopeston, Ill. In 1903, she moved with her family to Avalon and resided on a farm. She was tax collector for Fairview township for several years. She resided in Avalon and cared for her parents until their death, at which time she moved to Chillicothe. Miss Esterbrook was a housekeeper and cared for the elderly. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and lived at the Lambert Hotel prior to going to Livingston Manor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the chapel of the Norman Funeral Home with the Rev. William Lindblom officiating. Burial will be in the Avalon cemetery. Survivors include a brother, Harry Esterbrook, Albert City. Ia., several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a sister.
